1491: The Untold Story of the Americas Before Columbus is an award winning docu-drama series written and directed by Barbara Todd Hager. The series redefines the history of the Americas through the voices of Indigenous archaeologists, historians and knowledge keepers. Episodes themes include origins, architecture, governance and trade, art and culture, science and technology, agriculture and the environment. The series is based on the book, 1491: New Revelations of the America Before Columbus, by Charles C. Mann.
1491 is a co-production between Indigenous production companies Aarrow Productions, Inc. and Animiki See Digital Production Inc.
